Lyca Group Announces Strategic Transformation to Drive Growth and Efficiency

16-12-2024

Lyca Group, the world’s largest mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), today announced a strategic transformation aimed at streamlining certain business units and operations, enhancing digital capabilities, and positioning the company for sustainable growth in a competitive and challenging global market.

The company continues to focus on the growth of its Mobile Virtual Network Operations (“MVNO”) customer base and investing in new Mobile Network Operator (“MNO”) opportunities, in markets in Africa – where the company already operates the Lyca MNO in Uganda – and elsewhere.

Lyca plans to announce expansion to new countries as soon as Q1 2025, including the launch of new digital brands in Spain and the USA.

As part of its long-term strategy, Lyca will consolidate business services into its established service centres while transforming country-specific operations into leaner, sales-focused organizations. This move is expected to deliver significant cost savings, boost efficiency, improve customer services and accelerate innovation.

“Lyca’s strategic transformation ensures we remain a leader in delivering affordable, high-quality telecom solutions globally,” said Premananthan Sivasamy, Deputy Chairman of Lyca Group. “This paradigm shift enhances efficiency and strengthens our ability to adapt in a rapidly changing industry.”

Lyca will maintain a specialised team in London for essential advisory, compliance, and financial functions. The company remains committed to supporting employees during this change and engaging with partners to ensure a seamless process without disrupting service quality.

This transformation reflects Lyca’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence, ensuring it remains a trusted partner and industry leader connecting people worldwide.
