Lyca Mobile to partner with Seattle Orcas at 2023 & 2024 Major League Cricket

14th July 2022, London, Seattle: It has been announced today that Lyca Mobile, the world’s largest mobile virtual network operator, has become an official partner to the Seattle Orcas cricket team.

The Seattle Orcas are an American professional Twenty20 cricket team that compete in Major League Cricket (MLC). The team is based in Seattle, Washington and was announced in 2023 as one of six inaugural franchises to play in MLC.

The Seattle Orcas are owned by an investor group including Satya Nadella, Soma Somasegar, Samir Bodas, Ashok Krishnamurthi, and Sanjay Parthasarathy. GMR Group, the owners of the Delhi Capitals are overseeing operations for the team. Leading players for the Orcas will include Quinton De Kock, Shimron Hetmyer and Dasun Shanaka.

The strategic two-year partnership with the Orcas will help Lyca Mobile expand its awareness and offering to US and international consumers, while also developing stronger connections with cricket enthusiasts worldwide.

Lyca Mobile takes the back of shirt and leading arm position on the Orcas playing kit. The campaign will be supported by a strong in ground advertising presence and digital activation programme through the duration of the tournament.

The MLC tournament started on July 13th and will last just over two weeks, coming to an end with the grand final on July 30, at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
